A RESOLUTION

Commending Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier has long been recognized by her peers as a community leader and champion of equitable housing who has dedicated innumerable hours of her time and energy toward improving the lives of low-income families; and

WHEREAS, Marjy is a founding partner of TriStar, a nationally recognized real estate investment firm based in Atlanta, where she led efforts to develop a sustainable housing model that revitalizes marginalized apartment communities near underperforming elementary schools; and

WHEREAS, this housing model has positively impacted over 10,000 families by creating stable, affordable communities and fostering long-term neighborhood investment, thereby helping to break cycles of poverty and build generational wealth through pathways to home-ownership; and

WHEREAS, as additional testament to her dedication to the community, Marjy further serves as the chair and founder of the nonprofit Star-C as well as the Advisory Board co-chair of HouseATL; and

WHEREAS, Marjy is also an accomplished author, having written Real Estate Asset Management: Executive Strategies for Profit Making and Blighted, a compelling narrative on the two-year redevelopment of the Summerdale apartment community; and

WHEREAS, her unwavering dedication to building community trust and improving lives extends beyond housing as she continues to lead with vision and integrity in her mission to create safe, healthy, and equitable living environments for underserved populations; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable individual be appropriately honored during this special time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier for her exceptional contributions to affordable housing, equitable community development, and educational support for families as well as extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier.
