House Resolution 581

By: Representatives Byrd of the 20th and Ridley of the 22nd

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing April 14, 2025, as Cherokee County 911 Foundation Day; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Board of Directors launched the Cherokee County 911 Foundation on April 14, 2024; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee County 911 Foundation supports the Cherokee County E 9-1-1 Center, which is the primary public safety dispatch point for all law enforcement, fire and emergency services, emergency management, and Reinhardt University in Cherokee County, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee County 911 Foundation is the only public safety 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation in the State of Georgia solely focused on 911 operations; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee County 911 Foundation and its board members have a mission to support, advocate, and advance the Cherokee County E 9-1-1 Center; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee County 911 Foundation and its board members have a vision to be the voice for Cherokee County E 9-1-1; and

WHEREAS, the Cherokee County 911 Foundation and its board members support, advocate, and advance through programs and initiatives to assist employees of the Cherokee County E 9-1-1 Center by creating an emergency fund, promoting mental and physical health, certification, training, and education, and supporting the Community Outreach Unit; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this day be appropriately recognized in honor of the Cherokee County 911 Foundation and its Board of Directors for their dedication, passion, and hard work in supporting, advocating for, and advancing the Cherokee County E 9-1-1 Center.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize April 14, 2025, as Cherokee County 911 Foundation Day.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
