A RESOLUTION

Commending Evetta B. Washington, recipient of the Women on Purpose award; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Evetta B. Washington has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service, advocacy, and empowerment; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Rockdale community, Evetta B. Washington has been selected as a recipient of the Women on Purpose award during Rockdale County's Women's History Month celebration; and

WHEREAS, she is a charter and legacy life member of the Rockdale-Newton Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) Inc., where she currently serves as president and has previously held the positions of first vice president and chair of the Scholarship Committee; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her work with NCNW, Evetta B. Washington has been an active member of the Rockdale County Branch of the NAACP, serving as assistant treasurer, chair of the Communications Committee, and co-chair of the Black History Month Celebration Committee; and

WHEREAS, she remains connected to her alma mater as a member of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of South Carolina State University and is a devoted member of Antioch-Lithonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves in the Mass Communication Ministry; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize this remarkable individual for her invaluable service and leadership.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Evetta B. Washington, recipient of the Women on Purpose award, and extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Evetta B. Washington.
