A RESOLUTION

Commending Brittany Thompkins, recipient of the 2025 Georgia Single Parent "Legacy Builders" Award; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Brittany Thompkins of Macon, Georgia, has recently been named a recipient of the 2025 Georgia Single Parent "Legacy Builders" Award in recognition of her exemplary dedication to her family, perseverance through adversity, and commitment to building a lasting legacy for her children; and

WHEREAS, a devoted single mother of two, Brittany has consistently demonstrated resilience and strength in the face of financial hardship, choosing to overcome challenges with courage, determination, and an unwavering focus on her children's success; and

WHEREAS, driven by a desire to provide meaningful opportunities for her family, Brittany founded Sweet Serenity Lemonade as a creative solution to support her son's travel baseball expenses, ultimately transforming it into a thriving business venture through her entrepreneurial spirit and hard work; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her business, Brittany successfully balances full-time employment with her parenting responsibilities, prioritizing her children's growth, education, and well-being while modeling the values of selflessness, dedication, and responsibility; and

WHEREAS, she is a valued member of Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she remains grounded in her faith and supported by a community that recognizes her perseverance and joy in uplifting others; and

WHEREAS, her humility, work ethic, and positive outlook serve as a daily inspiration to her children and community, exemplifying the qualities of leadership and determination that define a true legacy builder; and

WHEREAS, through her actions, Brittany Thompkins has instilled in her children the importance of resilience, initiative, and the pursuit of their goals, setting a powerful example of what can be achieved through perseverance and love.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Brittany Thompkins for her outstanding achievements as a mother, entrepreneur, and community role model as well as congratulate her upon being named a recipient of the 2025 Georgia Single Parent "Legacy Builders" Award. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Brittany Thompkins.
