A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Dana Fowle for her outstanding contributions to journalism and the community; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dana Fowle is an Emmy Award-winning journalist whose investigative reporting has significantly impacted the lives of Georgia's citizens; and

WHEREAS, Dana Fowle joined FOX 5 Atlanta in 1995 as a general assignment reporter, and in August 1999, she became the Consumer Reporter for the FOX 5 I-Team, where she has consistently delivered in-depth investigations that have led to meaningful change; and

WHEREAS, her investigative work on Georgia's child-welfare system played a pivotal role in prompting changes to state child-care laws and the reorganization of top management at the Department of Family and Children's Services, demonstrating her commitment to the well-being of Georgia's children and families; and

WHEREAS, Dana's journalistic integrity and dedication to consumer advocacy have led her to cover a wide range of topics, including health, finance, environmental concerns, fraud, and various consumer protection issues, all of which have empowered and educated the public; and

WHEREAS, in addition to her journalism career, Dana is an exceptional storyteller, consultant, pet food business owner, and community organizer, further demonstrating her passion for service and leadership beyond the newsroom; and

WHEREAS, over the past two decades at WAGA-TV, Dana has received nearly a dozen Emmy Awards, a testament to her excellence in investigative journalism and consumer reporting; and

WHEREAS, Dana Fowle's unwavering commitment to truth, justice, and public service has made a lasting impact on the State of Georgia and beyond, and she continues to be an invaluable asset to the field of journalism and the broader community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dana Fowle for her exemplary contributions to investigative journalism and consumer advocacy, applaud her for the positive change she has fostered through her reporting, and extend their sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dana Fowle.
