A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Denise Williams; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, March is celebrated as Women's History Month, a time to honor and recognize the invaluable impact of women throughout history and across all fields and trades; and

WHEREAS, Denise William's contributions to the community reflect the core values of Women's History Month; and

WHEREAS, Denise is a dedicated community advocate and experienced electrician with 30 years in the trade; and

WHEREAS, her deep-rooted commitment to her community is evident in her extensive civic engagement and advocacy efforts; and

WHEREAS, Denise has championed numerous issues, including fighting against high electric bills in the city and assisting senior citizens with home repairs through the ARAP program; and

WHEREAS, she has actively worked on various political campaigns, striving to bring positive change to Newton County; and

WHEREAS, her commitment to transparency and citizen engagement is demonstrated by her consistent presence at City Council meetings, Board of Commissioners meetings, Board of Education meetings, SPLOST meetings, and JDA meetings, ensuring residents stay informed about critical county decisions; and

WHEREAS, in 2024, Denise was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, a testament to her passion for community development and strong sense of integrity; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding contributions of this remarkable woman are recognized during Women's History Month.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Denise Williams for her unwavering dedication to service and extend sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Denise Williams.
