A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong is widely recognized as a visionary titan of business, global philanthropist extraordinaire, and trailblazing industrial pioneer whose transformative entrepreneurship and bold leadership have made a great impact on Ghana and beyond; and

WHEREAS, rising from humble beginnings, Dr. Sarpong launched his entrepreneurial journey in the 1990s with the founding of Sarpong Ventures Ltd., quickly establishing a reputation for strategic brilliance and business acumen across the Central District of Accra through his success in the import and trading sector; and

WHEREAS, he currently stands at the helm of the Special Group of Companies, commanding a net worth of $600 million and serving as a beacon of determination, resilience, and success in the global business landscape; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Sarpong's strategic leadership extends to his role as Board Chairman of Best Point Savings and Loans Co. Ltd., where he has guided the institution in empowering individuals and enterprises through financial inclusion and economic stability; and

WHEREAS, his entrepreneurial vision also encompasses U2 Salt Ltd., a 600-acre salt mining and refinery operation in Winneba, Central Region, demonstrating his commitment to industrial diversification and Ghana's economic development; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of his enduring impact, Dr. Sarpong was awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree of Philosophy in Law from Barkley University and was named an Honorary Ambassador of Business Entrepreneur in West Africa by the Peristrofi World Honorary International Award Conference; and

WHEREAS, throughout his career, Dr. Sarpong has earned numerous accolades and appointments, inspiring aspiring entrepreneurs and strengthening communities across generations through his steadfast dedication and visionary leadership; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable individual be appropriately honored during this special time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong for his outstanding contributions to entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and national development as well as extend sincere best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong.
