A RESOLUTION
Honoring Arlene Davis; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Arlene Davis has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, licensed since 1993, Arlene became involved in the REALTOR association right away, serving on and chairing virtually every committee for the Altamaha Basin Board of REALTORS, and eventually serving as board president in 1996 and 1997; and
WHEREAS, she launched RE/MAX Vidalia in 1998, with her late business partner, Ronnie Dixon, and has been affiliated with ERA Southeast Coastal Realty since 2010, where she has earned Circle of Excellence honors every year; and
WHEREAS, she was a GRI Governor in the early 2000's and served as Georgia REALTORS
(GAR) Region 9 Director from 2000 to 2002; and
WHEREAS, in 2007, she was elected president of GAR and established one of the most impactful programs in the history of the association, the GAR Leadership Academy; and
WHEREAS, her significant contributions to GAR have been recognized in numerous awards, including the GAR Realtor of the Year Award for Altahama Basin in 2003, GAR Realtor of the Year Award in 2008, the GAR President's Award in 2009, and is in the GARPAC Top Investor Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, the GAR Hall of Fame is given to individuals who are both captains of industry and champions of the Realtor association; it is GAR's highest individual honor; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Arlene Davis for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Arlene Davis.
