A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the 2025 Awards of Honor recipient, Mimi Weed; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mimi is a Rome native, a graduate of Coosa High School and co-owner of Mel & Mimi; and

WHEREAS, Mimi is very close with her family and family is very important to her; and

WHEREAS, Mimi enjoys traveling and finding new experiences and adventures with dear friends , as well as fashion; and

WHEREAS, Mimi is a Board member of Friends of the Marshall Forest, Rome Area Heritage Foundation, Relay for Life, and Cancer Navigators; and

WHEREAS, Mimi continues the legacy of her husband, Robert Weed, through her support of the Robert Weed Memorial Marshall Forest Walk in partnership with the Nature Conservancy and Federated Garden Clubs of Georgia, 10th Walk 2024; and

WHEREAS, Mimi serves her community through her volunteerism with Rome Celebrity Dance Challenge 2023, Rome Symphony Debutante Ball, Floyd Chamber of Commerce, Open Door Home, Junior Service League and Heart of the Community; and

WHEREAS, Mimi further serves the community through her business, Mel & Mimi, by fundraising for Brighter Birthdays Dessert Challenge 2022, Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful, and Historic Desoto Theatre Foundation An Evening on the Runway.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize Mimi Weed for her outstanding dedication to the community, commend her as a recipient of the 2025 Heart of the Community Awards Honor Recipient, and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Mimi Weed.
