A RESOLUTION

Commending the men and women of the United States Armed Forces from the Greater Augusta region; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the men and women of the United States Armed Forces have dedicated their lives to the defense and protection of our nation, upholding the highest values of courage, sacrifice, and service; and

WHEREAS, the Greater Augusta region is home to countless active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, and National Guard personnel who have honorably served and continue to serve in defense of our freedoms; and

WHEREAS, Fort Eisenhower (formerly Fort Gordon) and other military installations in the region have played a critical role in national defense, providing strategic support, training, and resources to ensure the readiness of our Armed Forces; and

WHEREAS, the families of our service members also bear the weight of sacrifice, providing unwavering support and resilience as their loved ones answer the call of duty; and

WHEREAS, the veterans of the Greater Augusta area have demonstrated extraordinary bravery and dedication, transitioning from military service to continue contributing to the community through leadership, public service, and economic development; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that we, as a community, express our profound gratitude and appreciation for the selfless service, dedication, and valor exhibited by these extraordinary men and women.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend the men and women of the United States Armed Forces from the Greater Augusta region for their exemplary contributions to the security, prosperity, and well-being of our great nation.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
