A RESOLUTION

Honoring Park Place Operations Inc. upon its 50th anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Park Place Operations Inc., originally known as Parking Company of America, has been a foundational part of the Atlanta community since its founding and incorporation on July 22, 1974, providing invaluable parking and mobility services to the residents and businesses of Atlanta, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, established and continuously led by the Chavez Family, Park Place Operations Inc. has earned a reputation for its exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and commitment to the success of its clients and the broader community; and

WHEREAS, over the past five decades, Park Place Operations Inc. has created thousands of jobs with more than 1,000 employees across the country, establishing itself as a vital contributor to Georgia's workforce and economic prosperity; and

WHEREAS, Park Place Operations Inc. owns, manages, and operates parking assets in 15 states nationwide and expands into new markets year over year, leading the way in leveraging and innovating parking technology solutions, enhancing clients' and customers' experience through touchless and seamless parking alternatives, and maximizing clients' revenue streams and profit; and

WHEREAS, between 1980 and 2009, Park Place Operations Inc. played a pivotal role in the operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, managing 30,000 parking spaces and handling up to 7 million transactions annually; at its peak, Park Place Operations Inc. employed 550 team members at the airport alone, providing significant employment opportunities for Georgia residents; and

WHEREAS, Park Place Operations Inc. has long been a partner in workforce development, offering a platform for recent college graduates to gain valuable managerial and business skills, which help shape their professional success in various industries; and

WHEREAS, in addition to its business success, Park Place Operations Inc. has shown unwavering dedication to community service, supporting a variety of local organizations with initiatives that focus on scholarships, job readiness, and empowerment for women, entrepreneurs, and youth; and

WHEREAS, the company's charitable efforts include partnerships with organizations such as the Atlanta Women Foundation, The Latin American Association, Mexican Center of Atlanta, Families First, CREW Atlanta, and the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body celebrate the 50th anniversary of Park Place Operations Inc. and honor its remarkable contributions to the City of Atlanta, the State of Georgia, and the countless individuals and communities it has positively impacted throughout its storied history. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Park Place Operations Inc.
