A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Georgia Festival of Trees; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, since its founding in 2021, the Georgia Festival of Trees has united communities in the spirit of generosity, service, and celebration, advancing its three-fold mission of advocacy, volunteerism, and holiday tradition; and

WHEREAS, at the heart of its mission, the festival raises awareness and critical funding to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of women and children in Georgia, supporting organizations dedicated to protecting and restoring the lives of survivors; and

WHEREAS, the festival also fosters a culture of volunteerism and charitable giving, bringing together individuals, businesses, and families to serve a greater cause and strengthen community bonds; and

WHEREAS, finally, the Georgia Festival of Trees offers an immersive holiday experience filled with dazzling displays and festive activities, providing families and friends with opportunities to build cherished traditions and lifetime memories; and

WHEREAS, under the leadership of its founder and executive director, Angie Ulibarri, the festival has expanded its reach, engaging volunteers and supporters in a shared mission of hope and compassion; and

WHEREAS, Angie Ulibarri's dedication to advocating for children and educating families about the dangers of human trafficking has strengthened the festival's impact, ensuring its purpose extends beyond the holiday season; and

WHEREAS, the Georgia Festival of Trees and its founder, Angie Ulibarri, have made a profound contribution to the fight against human trafficking while fostering a holiday tradition rooted in service and goodwill; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Georgia Festival of Trees is honored not only as a celebration but also as a movement of love, compassion, and the true meaning of Christmas.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize the Georgia Festival of Trees, commend it for its many outstanding contributions on behalf of those in need, and extend best wishes for its continued growth, development, and success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Festival of Trees and Angie Ulibarri.
