A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon honorably served in the United States Army Reserve (USAR) for 26 years, demonstrating unwavering dedication in key roles such as Chief of the AGR Boards Branch, Instructor at the USAR Retention School, and Command Retention Non-commissioned Officer for the 102nd USAR Command; and
WHEREAS, she has further served as Chief of the Nonresident Sergeants Major Course at the USASMA, USAR Senior Enlisted Liaison for the Eighth United States Army in Korea, and USAR Liaison, contributing to the professional development of enlisted personnel; and
WHEREAS, following her retirement, she continued her service as an Instructional Systems Specialist with the Directorate of Training and Development at USASMA for 13 years, overseeing the development of training materials for enlisted leaders and key military education programs; and
WHEREAS, her outstanding service has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and more; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon remains actively engaged in her community as a 50-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; a charter member of the El Paso Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated; and an active member of the El Paso Sergeants Major Association; and
WHEREAS, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Columbia College and a Master of Education from Sul Ross State University, and her extensive military education includes the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 33, and numerous specialized training courses; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon for her exceptional military career and her efficient, effective, and dedicated service to her nation as well as extend best wishes for future health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sergeant Major
(Ret.) Karen Beamon.
