A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Latina Leads; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Latina Leads is an Atlanta based nonprofit that empowers Latina girls, ages 8 to 16, to become active leaders in their communities through programs focused on leadership, self-esteem, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, values, and well-being; and
WHEREAS, founded by distinguished entrepreneur and journalist Eli Dib Caiazzo and community leader and journalist Maria Alejandra Bastidas, Latina Leads passionately empowers young girls to realize their full potential and become future leaders in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Latina Leads' leadership, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and well-being initiatives are designed to celebrate the unique heritage of each participant, while fostering an inclusive environment and empowering girls to take pride in their identities; and
WHEREAS, by inviting successful women from various cultural backgrounds to mentor and serve as role models, Latina Leads offers girls an opportunity to see themselves reflected in positions of leadership; and
WHEREAS, in the last year, this outstanding organization has served more than 250 Latina girls and their families, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources to advocate for their education and well-being; and
WHEREAS, over the past three years, Latina Leads has positively impacted the lives of more than 400 girls through workshops, summer camps, and conferences; and
WHEREAS, Latina Leads provides young girls the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to become confident, compassionate, and effective leaders in their communities and inspires, motivates, and elevates them through impactful content creation, mentorship, and leadership development; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this inspirational organization is appropriately honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Latina Leads for its commitment to inspiring future generations of Latina girls and extend their since best wishes for continued growth and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Latina Leads.
