A RESOLUTION
Commending and congratulating Ja'Karil Fegans; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Ja'Karil Fegans, a Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop number 1 at First Presbyterian Church of Savannah, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the most distinguished rank conferred by the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, very few scouts ever reach this level of achievement which requires candidates to complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrate proficiency in selected scouting techniques for attainment of this most exceptional award in scouting; and
WHEREAS, under the guidance of Troop Leader James Lee, Ja'Karil has ably evidenced his aptitude and competency in mastering the various skills taught through the Boy Scout program; and
WHEREAS, to complete his project, Ja'Karil constructed outdoor benches for his school, Bethesda Academy in Chatham County, Savannah, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, an outstanding young Georgian, Ja'Karil Fegans has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty, fairness and integrity and he has consistently conducted himself in a manner becoming an Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Ja'Karil serves as a Junior Usher and aspiring Deacon at First African Baptist Church of East Savannah, and he is a member of the Junior Varsity Basketball team at Bethesda Academy; and
WHEREAS, approval by the Scout Review Board and the final Eagle Scout Court of Honor are testaments to the perseverance and determination needed to be the type of young leader with high moral standards that make Ja'Karil an example for all Georgians, and great success is surely in this young man's future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Ja'Karil Fegans for his diligence and dedication to pursue the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ja'Karil Fegans.
