A RESOLUTION

Recognizing April 2025 as Arab American Heritage Month; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, for over a century, Arab Americans have been making valuable contributions to several aspects of American society, including medicine, law, business, education, technology, government, military service, and culture; and

WHEREAS, since migrating to America, men and women of Arab descent have shared their rich culture and traditions with neighbors and friends while also setting fine examples of model citizens and public servants; and

WHEREAS, Arab Americans have brought their resilient family values, strong work ethic, dedication to education, and diversity in faith and creed to America, adding strength to our great democracy; and

WHEREAS, Arab Americans have enriched American society by sharing in the entrepreneurial spirit that makes our nation free and prosperous, and they join all Americans in the desire to see a peaceful and diverse society where every individual is treated equally and feels safe; and

WHEREAS, the incredible contributions and heritage of Arab Americans have helped build a better nation, and the State of Georgia is proud of its many Arab American citizens who contribute so much to their communities as neighbors, coworkers, and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize April 2025 as Arab American Heritage Month.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
