ADOPTED SENATE

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing May 2, 2026, as Stilettos on Steel Day and International Female Ride Day at the Georgia State Capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Stilettos on Steel is a national organization whose mission is to unite female motorcyclists of all skill levels for friendship, support, and peer-to-peer or professional learning opportunities that ensure members are knowledgeable and safe motorcycle operators; and

WHEREAS, Stilettos on Steel has over 100 dedicated members and six chapters in the state of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the Newnan Chapter of Stilettos on Steel was founded in July 2023 and is composed of 44 dedicated members; and

WHEREAS, the Newnan Chapter focuses not only on riding and mentorship, but is also actively involved in community through support of the Coweta Samaritan Clinic, Wreaths Across America, City of Hope Patient Assistance Fund, Silver Bells, Marine Toys for Tots, Joey's Toybox, Newnan and Hogansville Police Departments' Shop with a Cop, and the Coweta County Sheriff's Department annual bicycle build-off; and

WHEREAS, on May 2, 2026, the Newnan Chapter of Stilettos on Steel will be hosting its signature event, International Female Ride Day; and

WHEREAS, the chapter will lead an exclusively all female planned and led ride throughout Coweta, Troup, and Meriwether counties escorted by local law enforcement and all proceeds will be donated to the Coweta County Sheriff's Department for their annual bicycle build-off to purchase bicycles for teenage girls; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize this outstanding organization upon the third anniversary of its signature International Female Ride Day event.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize May 2, 2026, as Stilettos on Steel Day and International Female Ride Day at the Georgia State Capitol.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Stilettos on Steel of Newnan, Georgia.
