A RESOLUTION

Honoring the life and memory of Erica Christine Easter; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Erica Christine Easter's life was marked by unwavering faith, compassion, and a servant's heart, leaving a lasting imprint on all who were blessed to know her; and

WHEREAS, Erica pursued academic excellence and leadership at the revered Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she cultivated lifelong friendships and exemplified the values of sisterhood, service, and scholarship through her commitment to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, she carried those values into her professional life, serving with distinction in the Office of the Mayor of Washington, D.C., the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, and even lending her organizational skills to the National Charter Collaborative impacting students across the State of Georgia and the country; and

WHEREAS, Erica was known for her radiant smile, generous heart, and ability to bring comfort to all who were lucky to meet her, offering encouragement, laughter, and grace to friends, colleagues, and loved ones alike; and

WHEREAS, Erica had a very unique ability to bring levity and laughter to any room she entered regardless if it were a personal or professional setting; and

WHEREAS, at the center of Erica's life was her family, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally, and to whom she gave her time, strength, and unwavering devotion; and

WHEREAS, she was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy and proudest role was nurturing her son, Jazelin Robinson, whose life will forever reflect her love, guidance, and enduring spirit; and

WHEREAS, Erica was a cherished daughter and sister, deeply rooted in family bonds built on faith, love, and steadfast support, serving as a source of strength, wisdom, and comfort to those closest to her; and

WHEREAS, she was a beloved aunt, godmother, sister friend, and family member who poured into her nieces, nephews, and god-children with a nurturing heart, ensuring each felt seen, valued, and deeply loved; and

WHEREAS, Erica demonstrated remarkable courage, grace, and resilience, continuing to inspire hope and strength in her family and all who walked alongside her; and

WHEREAS, Erica Christine Easter was a devoted mother, beloved family member, faithful servant, and treasured friend whose legacy of love, faith, and service will forever live on.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body extend their deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to her family, friends, and loved ones, and commit to honoring Erica Christine Easter's memory by carrying forward the compassion, unity, and unwavering faith that defined her life. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Erica Christine Easter.
