By: Senators Hatchett of the 50th, Robertson of the 29th, Strickland of the 42nd and Watson of the 1st

A RESOLUTION

Honoring the life of Mr. Richard Keith "Rick" Worley and dedicating an intersection in his memory; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Richard Keith "Rick" Worley devoted his life and career to the community of Catoosa County and Ringgold, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, a native of Catoosa County and cornerstone to his community, Mr. Worley graduated from Ringgold High School and successfully owned and operated the Rick Worley and Son Autobody shop; and

WHEREAS, after the tragic passing of his son in 2010, Mr. Worley established the Hunter Worley Foundation which assists grieving parents in North Georgia and Tennessee Valley with funeral and burial expenses; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Worley gave selflessly to his local community through his work sponsoring numerous fundraising efforts at Graysville Elementary School and local middle and high schools in Catoosa County; and

WHEREAS, he provided professional services to local police and fire departments and frequently donated equipment and drivers for community parades; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized by dedicating an intersection in his memory.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the intersection of State Route 3/US-41 and Chapman Road in Catoosa County is dedicated as the Richard Keith "Rick" Worley Memorial Intersection. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Richard Keith "Rick" Worley Memorial Intersection.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Mr. Richard Keith "Rick" Worley and to the Department of Transportation.
