20-4-152. Utilization of the High-demand Career List.

Code 1981, § 20-4-152, enacted by Ga. L. 2022, p. 175, § 1/SB 379; Ga. L. 2024, p. 575, § 2-2/HB 982, effective July 1, 2024; Ga. L. 2024, p. 616, § 1-2/SB 497, effective July 1, 2024.

The first 2024 amendment, effective July 1, 2024, substituted the current provisions of this Code section for the former provisions, which read: “(a) The board, in coordination with the Office of Workforce Development, shall create annually and publish on its website a list of high-demand jobs state wide for purposes of the High-demand Career Initiatives Program. “(b) The Office of Workforce Development shall publish and maintain criteria for the selection of high-demand jobs eligible for the High-demand Career Initiatives Program.” The second 2024 amendment, effective July 1, 2024, substituted “High Demand Apprenticeship Program” for “High-demand Career Initiatives Program” in subsections (a) and (b) and inserted “public” in subsection (a). Pursuant to Code Section 28-9-5, in 2024, the amendment of this Code section by Ga. L. 2024, p. 616, § 1-2/SB 497, was treated as impliedly repealed and superseded by Ga. L. 2024 p. 575, § 2-2/HB 982, due to irreconcilable conflict. Pursuant to Code Section 28-9-5, in 2024, “High Demand Apprenticeship Program” was substituted for “High-demand Career Initiatives Program” to reconcile the name of the program pursuant to Ga. L. 2024, p. 616, § 1-2/SB 497.
