30-6-3. ‘‘Personal assistance’’ defined.

  1. As used in this chapter, the term ‘‘personal assistance’’ means assistance which is required by a person with severe disabilities to achieve greater independence and which includes, but is not limited to, assistance with:

  2. (1)

    Routine bodily functions such as bowel or bladder care;#

  3. (2)

    Dressing;#

  4. (3)

    Household management, including, but not limited to, housecleaning and personal correspondence;#

  5. (4)

    Preparation and consumption of food;#

  6. (5)

    Moving in and out of bed;#

  7. (6)

    Routine bathing;#

  8. (7)

    Transportation, community errands, and activities; and#

  9. (8)

    Any other similar activity of daily living.#
