34-4-5. Employer’s records of hours worked by and wages paid to employees.

  1. Every employer subject to this chapter or any regulation pursuant thereto shall maintain records showing the hours worked by each employee and the wages paid to him and shall furnish to the Commissioner upon demand a sworn statement of the hours worked and wages paid to each person in his or its employment covered by this chapter. The records covering such hours and payments shall be open to inspection by the Commissioner, his deputy, or any authorized agent of the department at any reasonable time. Each employer subject to this chapter shall post copies of any regulation or order issued pursuant to its provisions in a conspicuous place in an area frequented by his employees.
