43-20A-7. Civil penalties for violations; private cause of action; rules and regulations.

- (a)
The Secretary of State may assess civil penalties against any individual or entity that he or she finds to have violated this chapter in an amount of up to $1,000.00 per violation not to exceed $50,000.00. A civil penalty assessed pursuant to this Code section shall be in addition to any other appropriate civil or criminal penalties.#
- (b)
Any person that suffers injuries or damages as a result of the unlawful practice of immigration assistance shall have a cause of action against the person or entity that provided the unlawful immigration assistance.#
- (c)
The Secretary of State shall issue rules and regulations not inconsistent with this chapter for the implementation, administration, and enforcement of this chapter.#
