43-33-17. Training permits.

  1. (a)

    The board may issue a training permit to an applicant who is a graduate of an approved physical therapy program who is approved to take the physical therapy licensing examination or who has taken the examination but not yet received the examination results.#

  2. (b)

    The board may issue a training permit to a foreign trained applicant who is a graduate from a physical therapy program outside the United States and its territories and who is approved to take the physical therapy licensing examination.#

  3. (c)

    The board may issue a training permit to a reinstatement applicant whose license to practice as a physical therapist or license to practice as a physical therapist assistant has been expired for more than two years.#

  4. (d)

    The training permit shall allow the holder thereof to work only under the direct supervision of a physical therapist who has been approved by the board and has practiced for not less than one year prior to assuming the supervisory role.#

  5. (e)

    Training permits are governed by rules and regulations authorized under this article and approved by the board.#
