Except as provided in Code Section 46-8A-4, no person shall operate any rapid rail passenger service line or system or any extension thereof in this state without first obtaining a permit from the commission. The commission shall grant a permit to any person who complies with the guidelines and standards established by the commission.

Amendments

The 2025 amendment, effective July 1, 2025, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, substituted “commission” for “Public Service Commission” in the first sentence.
