47-17-21. Creation of the office of executive director; duties and compensation; quarterly report and accounting to the board; performance bond.

- (a)
There is created the office of executive director of the Peace Officers’ Annuity and Benefit Fund. The executive director shall be elected by the board, shall serve at its pleasure, and shall perform the duties provided for in this chapter and such other duties and services as the board may direct. The board shall fix the compensation of the executive director.#
- (b)
The executive director shall give a good and sufficient surety bond in such an amount as may be determined by the board, and such surety bond shall be conditioned upon the proper and faithful performance of the duties of the executive director.#
- (c)
Subject to direction and limitations as may be set by the board, the executive director shall be authorized to enter into agreements for the acquisition of goods and services for the fund.#

Amendments
The 2024 amendment, effective July 1, 2024, substituted “executive director” for “secretary-treasurer” in subsections (a) and (b); in subsection (a), in the second sentence, substituted “board,” for “board and” and substituted “, and” for “. His compensation shall be fixed by the board. He” and added the last sentence; substituted “the duties of the” for “his duties as” near the end of subsection (b); and rewrote subsection (c), which read: “The secretary-treasurer shall make quarterly reports to the board showing the total amount of money in his hands at the time of making such report and also showing a full accounting of receipts and expenditures since his last quarterly report.”
