47-23-41. Employee contributions.

  1. (a)

    Any person who becomes a superior court judge, a judge or solicitor-general of a state court, a juvenile court judge, or a district attorney on or after July 1, 1998, shall be a member of this retirement system and shall make employee contributions into the fund. The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to a person who elected membership in the Employees’ Retirement System of Georgia pursuant to Code Section 47-2-260.#

  2. (b)

    No juvenile court judge who also serves as a judge or solicitor-general of a state court shall be eligible to obtain separate service under this chapter for each position held, and such service shall be combined for the purposes of this chapter. Any person holding two such positions shall make employee contributions under this chapter on the basis of the compensation received for both such positions, and the compensation received for both such positions shall be combined for all purposes under this chapter.#
