A RESOLUTION

Recognizing February 10, 2026, as Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan is a respected gastroenterologist, physician leader, and long-standing advocate for public health whose work has positively impacted communities across the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Indrakrishnan has demonstrated sustained commitment to public service by engaging constructively with policymakers, community organizations, and healthcare leaders to advance preventive care, early detection, and health education for Georgians; and

WHEREAS, at the initiative of Dr. Indrakrishnan, the Governor of Georgia issued a historic proclamation designating February 4 as Georgia Cancer Day, marking the first time in the state's history that a unified, general cancer awareness day-rather than one limited to a single cancer type-has been formally recognized; and

WHEREAS, this landmark proclamation reflects a broader public health vision that promotes collaboration across cancer types, medical specialties, and community partners, strengthening statewide awareness and prevention efforts; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Indrakrishnan has continued to serve as a trusted, nonpartisan physician voice at the intersection of medicine and public policy, offering practical clinical insight in support of informed decision-making for the benefit of the people of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, over multiple years, Dr. Indrakrishnan's enduring service has demonstrated leadership defined not by position or title, but by consistency, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to improving health outcomes statewide; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the continued public service and leadership of this distinguished Georgian be once again recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize February 10, 2026, as Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan Day at the State Capitol in honor of his sustained and deeply valuable contributions to public health and service in the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan.
