A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Nury Castillo Crawford; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Nury Castillo Crawford is a first-generation immigrant, lifelong educator, author, and CEO & Founder of THE little BOOK SPOT; and

WHEREAS, through her nonprofit, THE little BOOK SPOT, she tirelessly advocates for equitable literacy access, ensuring every child has the tools to succeed; and

WHEREAS, her current work as an educational consultant focuses on the Science of Reading, implementing research-driven literacy strategies across the nation; and

WHEREAS, as a published author, Nury Castillo Crawford uses bilingual literature to celebrate individual strengths and the beauty of diverse cultures; and

WHEREAS, during her tenure with Gwinnett County Public Schools, she proudly created and launched the Hispanic Mentoring Program; and

WHEREAS, this initiative gained national recognition, highlighting the State of Georgia's commitment to inclusive student support; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this dedicated and remarkable Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Nury Castillo Crawford for her unwavering commitment to student success and literacy education in the State of Georgia. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Nury Castillo Crawford.
