A RESOLUTION

Recognizing March 5, 2025, as Small Business Day at the state capitol and commending the "Capitalize Georgia: Empowering Financial Futures and Business Excellence Symposium"; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia recognizes the vital contributions of small businesses to economic prosperity, job creation, and community development across the state; and

WHEREAS, Small Business Day, celebrated on March 5, 2025, highlights the entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of small business owners and their role as a cornerstone of Georgia's economy; and

WHEREAS, the "Capitalize Georgia: Empowering Financial Futures and Business Excellence Symposium," held on Small Business Day at the Georgia State Capitol, exemplifies Georgia's commitment to advancing financial literacy, business excellence, and empowerment; and

WHEREAS, the symposium is led by esteemed hosts Dr. Jacqueline Mohair, Dr. Sonya Hamm, and Dr. Dorothea (Dee) Dawkins-Haigler, whose leadership and dedication have been pivotal in creating this impactful event; and

WHEREAS, the commendable support and leadership of Rep. Billy Mitchell in welcoming and promoting this symposium underscore the Georgia House of Representatives' dedication to supporting small businesses and fostering economic growth; and

WHEREAS, this symposium features a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Dr. Dorothea (Dee) Dawkins-Haigler, Dr. Jacqueline Mohair, Dr. Sonya Hamm, Rep. Doreen Carter, Ms. Teresa Hardy, Rep. Dar'shun Kendrick, Ms. Erica-Antoinette Slaton, Dr. Tanya Wiley Brown, Dr. Angela Cudger, and Rep. Billy Mitchell, each providing invaluable insights into financial literacy and entrepreneurial success; and

WHEREAS, the event is made possible through collaboration with renowned organizations such as the TIUA School of Business, The Organization of World Leaders, Top Ladies of Distinction, and Trinity Girls Network Corp., which have significantly contributed to its success; and

WHEREAS, the symposium serves as a vital platform for small business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to exchange ideas, network, and gain actionable insights, advancing the financial well-being and business development of Georgia's small business community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize March 5, 2025, as Small Business Day at the state capitol and commend the "Capitalize Georgia: Empowering Financial Futures and Business Excellence Symposium" as a cornerstone event for advancing financial literacy, business excellence, and empowerment in the state.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the TIUA School of Business, The Organization of World Leaders, Top Ladies of Distinction, Trinity Girls Network Corp., the public, and the press.
