A RESOLUTION

Recognizing March 20, 2025, as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol and celebrating Buc-ee's and its presence in Georgia; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Buc-ee's is a chain of travel centers known for its award-winning clean restrooms and abundant fuel pumps including diesel exhaust fluid, ethanol free fuel, and EV charging stations; and

WHEREAS, Buc-ee's offers a variety of merchandise, from clever and quirky, such as Buc-ee the Beaver inflatables with interchangeable party signs and Buc-ee's onesies for babies and adults, to conventional and sophisticated, such as cast-iron skillets, specialty wood cutting boards, and gold and silver jewelry; and

WHEREAS, Buc-ee's is especially known for its extensive assortment of drinks and food, including but not limited to Beaver Nuggets, in-house made fudge, a wall covered end-to-end with a variety of different flavored beef jerkies, and "fresh brisket on the board" that is smoked in house and made into deliciously warm ready-to-eat sandwiches; and

WHEREAS, Buc-ee's started in Texas and has expanded to eight other states, including Georgia, and has travel centers in Warner Robins and Calhoun, one scheduled to open in Brunswick in June of this year, and another planned for Monroe County; and

WHEREAS, each location of Buc-ee's in this state brings jobs for the development and construction of the travel center; adds full-time, part-time, and seasonal jobs at the travel center; increases sales tax revenue from purchases of fuel, merchandise, food, and beverages at the travel center; and encourages investment in the area surrounding the travel center; and

WHEREAS, Georgia travelers and travelers through Georgia deserve a safe, well-lit place to stop, shop, refuel, and rest, and they can happily say "Meet me at Buc-ee's!" 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that Buc-ee's be recognized for coming to this state, stimulating the economy, and providing a cultural experience to remember and revisit.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize March 20, 2025, as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol and celebrate Buc-ee's for its presence in Georgia and extend best wishes for its continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Buc-ee's, the public, and the press.
