A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Carrollton High School debate team for winning the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and, most recently, 2025 GFCA State Debate Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Carrollton High School debate team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, excellent delivery, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and their months of training and practice have been rewarded with a victory at the last five GFCA State Debate Championships; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished and unmatched record represents the team's incredible tradition of excellence, including a total of 15 state championships; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent program performed with precision during the 2024-2025 season and cemented its well-deserved reputation for high standards of debate achievement and its development of critical thinkers and excellent public speakers; and

WHEREAS, this remarkable accomplishment stands as a testament to the dedication, skill, and perseverance demonstrated by each member of the team; the astute direction and guidance of their coaches; and the steadfast support of their school community; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary championship team be appropriately honored during this special time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the Carrollton High School debate team for winning the 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 GFCA State Debate Championships and extend best wishes for continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Carrollton High School debate team.
