A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team for winning the 2025 GHSA Class 2A Girls Varsity Basketball State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school by winning the 2025 GHSA Class 2A Girls Varsity Basketball State Championship against the Murray County Indians with a final score of 47 to 34, marking their first-ever state championship victory in school history; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; its superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Kelly Ellison; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team for winning the 2025 GHSA Class 2A Girls Varsity Basketball State Championship and extend best wishes for their continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Hardaway Hawks varsity girls basketball team.
