A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson on the occasion of his 13th pastoral anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson was called by the Lord 13 years ago to lead the congregation of The Olivet Church as its pastor, where he has since served with faith, wisdom, and a heart for ministry; and

WHEREAS, under his leadership, The Olivet Church has experienced remarkable growth, including the successful launch of the "Let Us Rise Up and Build" Lifestyle Stewardship Capital Campaign, which resulted in the construction and dedication of a new Worship and Services Center on August 25, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson has worked tirelessly to expand the church's reach, deepen its impact, and minister to the needs of the congregation and the surrounding community; and

WHEREAS, beyond his pastoral duties, he serves as chaplain for the Fulton and DeKalb County sheriff's offices and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and he has previously served on the Board of Trustees for the Progressive National Baptist Convention; and

WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the sick, counseling the troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or humanitarian, Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson has shown the energy, devotion, and commitment truly reflective of divine guidance; and

WHEREAS, the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson is a source of strength and direction for persons in all walks of life; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the dynamic Christian ministry of this devout and pious man.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson on the wonderful occasion of his 13th pastoral anniversary and extend best wishes for many more years of successful fellowship and leadership.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Reverend Dr. William Holmes Robinson.
