A RESOLUTION
Commending the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia) and recognizing February 4, 2025, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, founded in 1913 as BOMA-Atlanta, BOMA Georgia is a trade association that has supported the commercial real estate industry in Georgia for 112 years; and
WHEREAS, the commercial real estate industry has grown to currently contribute nearly $5.5 billion to Georgia's economy annually while supporting nearly 50,000 jobs in the state; and
WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia members are responsible for the ownership, management, and administration of more than 150 million square feet of office space and additional millions of square feet of facilities throughout Georgia; and
WHEREAS, these individuals represent building ownership, professional property management firms, professional service providers, and contract services across more than 40 other categories of specialty services, and BOMA Georgia members have been instrumental in cementing Georgia as a national leader in commercial real estate over the past century; and
WHEREAS, in 2014, BOMA Georgia established the BOMA Georgia Foundation, a charitable organization contributing to research and education in the commercial real estate industry that has increased support of the State of Georgia's role as a cutting-edge leader in commercial real estate and business initiatives for nearly a decade; and
WHEREAS, BOMA Georgia has been recognized nationally for excellence in diversity and inclusion; environmental sustainability; education; volunteerism; corporate responsibility; and more across its 112-year lifespan; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments and history of this extraordinary organization be recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia upon its 112th anniversary and recognize February 4, 2025, as BOMA Georgia Day at the state capitol.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia.
