A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Andre Anthony Cross Jr.; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Andre Anthony Cross Jr. is a graduating senior at Georgia Gwinnett College whose journey is marked by resilience, transformation, and a deep commitment to growth; and

WHEREAS, a first-generation American and the son of a Liberian immigrant, Andre has consistently defied the odds to achieve academic and personal success; and

WHEREAS, beginning his undergraduate career as a student-athlete, Andre faced significant challenges after a sports injury and academic struggles that threatened his future; and

WHEREAS, refusing to be defined by setbacks, he transferred to Georgia Gwinnett College for a fresh start where he went on to make the Dean’s List, serve as a Student Ambassador, and intern with the Georgia House of Representatives; and

WHEREAS, beyond his academic success, Andre is known for his leadership, humility, and dedication to public service; and

WHEREAS, Andre’s story is a testament to perseverance, second chances, and the power of education to unlock potential; his character, achievements, and impact have left a lasting impression on the GGC community, and he stands as a proud representative of the Class of 2025; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding achievements of this exemplary Georgian are appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Andre Anthony Cross Jr. and extend sincere best wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Andre Anthony Cross Jr.
