A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Joan Quaterman upon her retirement; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Joan Quaterman has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her superlative service with the Leisure Services Bureau; and

WHEREAS, Joan has shown exceptional dedication and an unwavering commitment to the development and enrichment of children through her tireless efforts in recreation in Savannah, Georgia's, Hull Park; and

WHEREAS, for over 52 years, she has championed a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children to grow, learn, and thrive during the summer break; and

WHEREAS, she has positively impacted the lives of countless children through her support in distributing meals from the City of Savannah’s federally-funded free summer lunch program; and

WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and

WHEREAS, Joan has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and unyielding commitment to the children in Hull Park will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her retirement; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Joan Quaterman for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Joan Quaterman.
