A RESOLUTION

Recognizing Possibilities Unlimited for Women, Inc.; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Possibilities Unlimited for Women, Inc., (PUFW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence; and

WHEREAS, PUFW provides grants, resources, and support systems that foster healing, independence, and renewed purpose; and

WHEREAS, several times a year, PUFW hosts a revolutionary boot camp consisting of courses in interviewing skills, financial literacy, resume writing, and dressing for success; and

WHEREAS, the organization also provides grants for women to assist them with utilities, phone, and gas bills, allowing women to focus on their recovery without significant financial burden; and

WHEREAS, since 2015, PUFW has used its own funding to provide book scholarships to 12th grade girls, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive through education and personal development; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this extraordinary organization be appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize and commend Possibilities Unlimited for Women, Inc., for its unwavering commitment to supporting survivors of domestic violence. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Possibilities Unlimited for Women, Inc.
