  1. The members of the General Assembly shall receive such salary as shall be provided for by law, provided that no increase in salary shall become effective prior to the end of the term during which such change is made.

The constitutional amendment (Ga. L. 1997, p. 1713) concerning the Georgia Citizens Commission on Compensation of Public Officials was defeated at the general election on November 8, 1998.
