House Resolution 2061

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Zoreida Reyes-Garcia on her outstanding public service; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Zoreida Reyes-Garcia has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Zoreida, of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, is a sophomore at Georgia Gwinnett College, majoring in Criminal Justice; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship Program at the Georgia State Capitol, she served as a Legislative Intern in the Georgia House of Representatives for the Office of Representative Arlene Beckles; and

WHEREAS, in this role, Zoreida was actively involved in legislative research, drafting bill analyses, preparing speeches and constituent communications, and supporting the office during committee meetings, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the legislative process; and

WHEREAS, notably, she contributed to work on House Bill 1142, focused on establishing a domestic violence registry in the State of Georgia, diligently assisting with research, drafting materials, and preparation for committee discussions; and

WHEREAS, Zoreida aspires to pursue a career as a Georgia State Trooper, where she can serve and protect her community while promoting public safety and justice; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Zoreida Reyes-Garcia for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Zoreida Reyes-Garcia.
